The complete airport digital signage platform

Airport digital signage experience

Move beyond Airport Digital Signage to bridging the gap to passengers’ smartphones, providing a better passenger experience and increasing airport efficiency.

Post-Covid, airport digital signage will be a more important piece of key infrastructure than ever before.

FIDs, BIDs & GIDs will remain important as airports move beyond them to provide better passenger experiences, reduce anxiety and relieve stress while increasing airport efficiency.

Screens will each need to display location relevant content and also syncronised content across all screens.

Dynamic and Interactive Wayfinding will replace static signage.

Health and Safety messaging will be improved and, most importantly, timely.

Advertising will be able to be injected into the system and displayed on specific screens, or even across all screens at once. All the while, the airport retains ownership and control of all the screen real estate.

The system should bridge the gap between the airport’s digital signage system and passengers’ Smart phones. This will empower passengers to take what’s happening at the Gate, flight delays & information with them on their Smart phones.

Ideally, the same platform will be used to deliver information across the airport from a single source of truth.

Use digital signage to enhance passenger experience in transportation facilities by providing real-time information on arrival/departure times, cancellations and delays.

Airport Digital Signage 2

Reduce

Share real-time updates on wait times to alleviate passenger anxiety.

Airport Digital Signage 3

Navigate

Make navigation easy with interactive wayfinding and digital signs.

Airport Digital Signage 4

Communicate

Share real-time information (arrival/departure times, cancellations, delays, etc.)

Airport Digital Signage 5

Integrate

Connect digital signage to backend systems and alarm.

The system should also be looking at ways that bridge the gap between a digital signage system and your passenger’s smartphone.

They should be able to take that information with them on their smartphone. Ideally, using the same platform as the digital signage system that is inside the airport. So then you’ve got a single source of truth, regardless of where the passenger is getting that information from.

2022 Airport Business Project of the Year: PQS Puts Boarding Info in Passengers’ Hands

Airport Digital Signage 8

Congratulations to Omnivex for their part in winning the Airport Business Magazine, Technology Project of the Year with Omnivex Ink.

The project,  a joint effort between Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Wipro, Omnivex, and LG Electronics, to create a cloud-based Passenger Queue System (PQS) designed to improve the boarding experience and they discovered the system has other benefits as well.

The PQS offers a QR code at strategic locations, including check-in and boarding gate. Once scanned, real time boarding information is served directly to the passenger’s smartphone by Omnivex Ink – no app download, no login and completely anonymous.

When the right software, expertise and opportunity are brought together, you get a Masterclass in Digital Signage.

That’s what happened when Geir Ove Finstad and his Team at Dataserver AS in Norway used the Omnivex platform to deliver an outstanding and comprehensive solution for Avinor Air Navigation Services. Flight data, belt data, and gate data along with commercial advertising and external transport information on screens of all types & sizes (and shapes).

This shows what is possible.
This is Digital Signage at its best.
