Visuals – 3 types 

Permanent General Information and Guidance

These are generally signs and markings that inform and guide to Exits, Toilets, Safety, etc Floor markings included, particularly if you are a LEAN operation

Transient Information

Safety signs such as wet floor warnings, Lock-off Tags, and area closed are examples of transient Visuals.

Operational

Tool shadow-boards, operation and methodology instructions are examples of Operational Visuals.

Instructions may be printed or enhanced by using digital displays and include video

Information in the form of numbers is very difficult to understand quickly

Visual display of data 

Information is best presented in the form of graphs & graphics with text secondary

Line charts are typically used to show trends or categories

Consider using a line chart  when: - there are many data point - the order of the data is important

Column charts are typically used to show change over a period of time or for comparison
